Amazon (AMZN) has launched a new private-label brand, Amazon Saver, providing more economical grocery options both in-store and online.Marketed as a “No Frills” brand, Amazon Saver features most of its items priced under $5, aiding shoppers in maximizing their grocery budgets.“We’re continually striving to make grocery shopping simpler, faster, and more budget-friendly for our customers,” stated Claire Peters, Worldwide Vice President of Amazon Fresh.“With extended Prime member discounts, the launch of the Amazon Saver brand, and streamlined online shopping, completing your weekly grocery shopping on a budget with Amazon Fresh has never been easier – whether you’re navigating the aisles or adding to your online cart.”The tech giant emphasized that Prime members would benefit from an additional 10 percent discount on these products. Moreover, the company plans to progressively introduce over 100 items to the range.Amazon’s strategy aligns with moves by its competitors.
