Recent reports from the Central Bureau of Statistics on Tuesday indicate that Dutch inflation eased slightly in August, as initially predicted, while industrial production continued its downward trend. The annual increase in consumer prices was recorded at 3.6 percent in August, down from a one-year high of 3.7 percent in July, consistent with the preliminary data released on August 30.Inflation, measured by the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP), also moderated, dropping to 3.3 percent from 3.5 percent in July, as previously estimated. The slight deceleration in overall inflation was primarily influenced by a 5.6 percent decrease in motor fuel costs. Additionally, clothing prices fell by 3.5 percent, contributing to the dampening effect on inflation. However, utility costs saw a 1.08 percent increase.Separately, industrial output fell by 4.4 percent year-over-year in July, which is a slower decline compared to the 5.0 percent drop observed in June. Notably, production has been on a downward trajectory since July of the previous year.Among various sectors, the transport equipment industry experienced the largest decline in production, whereas the food industry saw the most significant increase. The material has been provided by InstaForex Company – www.instaforex.com
