A measure of the public assessment of the Japanese economy rose in November after falling in the previous month, survey data from the Cabinet Office showed on Monday.
The current conditions index of the Economy Watchers’ Survey, which measures the current situation, increased to 39.4 in November from 36.7 in October. Economists had forecast a reading of 39.7.
The outlook index that signals future activity improved to a seasonally adjusted 45.7 in November from 43.7 in the previous month. Economists had expected a score of 44.6. This was the highest reading since June, when the index rose 45.8.
