In July, the average household spending in Japan decreased by a seasonally adjusted 1.7 percent from the previous month, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. This brought the figure to 290,931 yen. The decline was steeper than the forecasted 0.2 percent drop, following a modest 0.1 percent rise in June.Annually, household spending saw a marginal increase of 0.1 percent, falling short of the anticipated 1.2 percent growth.
