More than 7 million people took part in a symbolic public consultation to show dissatisfaction with President Nicol?s Maduro’s proposal to reform Venezuela’s constitution. Opposition parties organized the event, which happened Sunday.
Organizers asked if the respondents were against changes in the country’s Constitution. According to Raul L?pez, the Universidad Pedag?gica Experimental Libertador’s dean, 98.4% voted “yes” and 0.13% voted “no.”
The organizers also asked voters if they were in favor of new elections and a transitional government in Venezuela. According to preliminary results, 98.3% of the voters said “yes” and 0.14% voted “no.”
Also yesterday, there was a rehearsal for the constitutional assembly election. According to the Venezuelan News Agency, there was a large participation among the Venezuelans in the simulation, demonstrating that there will be a “blunt victory” on July 30, when the National Constituent Assembly will be elected.
