China’s consumer price inflation rose less-than-expected in May, while factory gate price growth reached its highest level since 2008 on higher commodity prices. Consumer prices climbed 1.3 percent on a yearly basis in May versus a 0.9 percent rise in April, data from the National Bureau of Statistics revealed on Wednesday. But this was weaker than the economists’ forecast of 1.6 percent.
