On April 23, 2025, Amerant issued a press release reporting its financial results for the first quarter of 2025. Among other items, Amerant reported GAAP earnings per share of $0.28, missing consensus estimates by $0.12. Commenting on the Company’s results, Amerant’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer said that “loans were relatively flat quarter over quarter, as a result of increased payoffs and paydowns offsetting production in the first quarter.”
On this news, Amerant’s stock price fell $2.55 per share, or 13.09%, to close at $16.93 per share on April 24, 2025.
