Petco Animal Supplies Inc. said Wednesday it had hired Ron Coughlin as chief executive. Coughlin had been the president of HP Inc.’s personal-computer business; HP announced earlier Wednesday afternoon that Coughlin had accepted a CEO position in San Diego, but did not name the company. Petco, a retail chain that sells pet supplies, had planned an initial public offering in 2015, but instead accepted a $4.6 billion buyout to remain private.
