The Senate on Thursday confirmed former energy lobbyist David Bernhardt to head the Interior Department in a 56-41 vote. Democrats Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Martin Heinrich of New Mexico and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona broke ranks and voted for President Donald Trump’s nominee. As interior chief Bernhardt will oversee public lands and energy production on them.
