Romania Inflation Rate Ticks Down to 4.9%

In March 2025, Romania experienced a slight decrease in its annual inflation rate, which fell to 4.86%, down from February’s 5.02%, aligning with market forecasts. The deceleration in prices was primarily observed in non-food items, which saw their prices reduce to 3.84% compared to 4.79% the previous month. Conversely, there was a marginal increase in the costs of food products, rising to 5.10% from 4.54%, and in service costs, which escalated to 6.99% from 6.42%. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices increased by 0.27% in March, following a 0.88% rise in February.
