In May 2025, Denmark’s consumer confidence index fell to -18.4, down from -17 the previous month. This decline represents the lowest level since March 2023, driven by more pessimistic assessments of families’ financial situations compared to the previous year, worsening from -10.1 in April to -12.7. Additionally, perspectives on the economic outlook for the following year became more negative, dropping to -32 from -23. Consumers also remain cautious about purchasing major consumer goods, holding steady at -13.4 compared to -13.6 earlier. Furthermore, outside of the confidence indicator, predictions for unemployment trends showed an increase, rising to 19.1 from 16 over the next twelve months, along with expectations of price developments in the coming year, which slightly increased to 40.8 from 40.5.
