In March 2025, Denmark experienced a 1.6% increase in retail sales compared to the same month the previous year, bouncing back from a 0.1% decline observed in February. This recovery was largely driven by a surge in clothing sales, which jumped by 3.5% following a 3.3% decrease the previous month, and a notable rise in sales of other consumer goods, which climbed by 5.9% compared to February’s 2.2% gain. However, sales in the food and grocery sector continued to decline, with a sharper drop of 3.4% compared to the 2.4% decrease in the prior month. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, retail performance dipped slightly by 0.1% in March, marking the first decline in four months and countering a 0.8% increase recorded in the period before.
