On May 29, 2025, Caleres issued a press release reporting its financial results for the first quarter of 2025. Among other items, Caleres reported sales of only $614.2 million, representing a 6.8% year-over-year decline, which Caleres’s Chief Financial Officer acknowledged “was below our expectations”. The Company also suspended its guidance for 2025, citing “the uncertainty in the environment[.]”
On this news, Caleres’s stock price fell $3.00 per share, or 18.32%, to close at $13.38 per share on May 29, 2025.
