Retail sales in Lithuania experienced a modest growth of 0.1% year-on-year in March 2025, a noticeable deceleration from the revised 2.1% increase observed in February. This represents the slowest uptick in retail trade since January 2024, primarily driven by a decrease in food, beverages, and tobacco sales, which dropped by 4.2% following a 1.9% rise in February. The automotive fuel sector also saw a further decline, with sales decreasing by 12.4%, in comparison to a 9.5% fall during the previous month. Conversely, there was a slight acceleration in the sales of non-food products, which grew by 10.3% as opposed to 8.4% previously, and a modest increase in other retail sales at non-specialized stores, which rose by 31.9% compared to 30.8%. On a month-to-month basis, retail sales increased by 0.9%, following a 0.8% rise in February.
