Producer prices in Sweden experienced a year-on-year decline of 0.3% in March 2025, a notable shift from the 3.4% increase observed in the previous month. This event marks the first recorded decrease since October, largely driven by a renewed decline in the prices of energy-related products, which fell by 8.6% compared to an 8.4% rise in February. Additionally, there was a slowdown in producer inflation for consumer goods, dropping to 1.9% from 3.2%, and for capital goods, which decreased to 0.3% from 1.6%. When excluding energy-related products, producer prices were 1.1% higher than for the same period the previous year. On a month-to-month basis, the Producer Price Index (PPI) decreased by 3%, marking the most significant drop since January 2023, subsequent to a 0.1% decline in February. Within the domestic market, the most substantial negative impact stemmed from reduced prices in trade services for electricity, while the primary contributor to the decrease in the import market was the lowering of crude oil prices.
