New Supreme Court ruling could unlock the biggest wealth transfer in U.S. history—while most Americans remain unaware
WASHINGTON, May 19, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — While headlines scream about inflation, government debt, and political division, one former White House advisor says a much bigger story is being ignored.
According to Jim Rickards—former advisor to the CIA, Pentagon, and Treasury—a hidden $150 trillion “trust” is now being unlocked by a Supreme Court decision tied to former President Donald Trump.
“It’s enough to make every single family in America millionaires,” Rickards says in a recent interview. “Yet no one’s talking about it”
Unlike stimulus checks or social programs, this isn’t a traditional government handout.
“This ‘trust fund’ is not a pile of money to be equally distributed to all citizens. And it’s not part of a government program or handout,” Rickards clarifies
Instead, he describes it as a mineral endowment—rooted in Title 30 of the U.S. Code—valued at $150 trillion and counting.
Unseen and Untouched—Until Now
This “national inheritance,” as Rickards puts it, has remained locked away for over 160 years due to decades of bureaucratic red tape and environmental policy.
“Despite giving away 10% of all land in the United States… the government retained the most valuable part. For 163 years, it’s held on to it”
Rickards claims that environmental policies—reinforced by the now-overturned Chevron Doctrine—made it virtually impossible to access these resources.
“They tied us down with reams of regulation… and they ushered in one boondoggle after another”
“That’s why it takes longer to open a mine here than almost anywhere on earth. S&P Global ranks us just one spot above Zambia”
Trump’s Supreme Court May Have Changed Everything
The Supreme Court’s reversal of the Chevron Doctrine now gives Trump-appointed judges the power to remove long standing roadblocks and unlock the mineral wealth buried beneath federal land.
“Now… for the first time in half a century—we can go get them!” Rickards says
“Trump is re-opening our mineral-rich Federal Lands. And fast-tracking companies that will recover trillions of dollars’ worth of resources”
Rickards compares the moment to the Homestead Act or 19th-century Gold Rush:
“The last time this happened in America… so many people cashed in, a phrase was invented to describe it: ‘rags to riches’”
“This is the opportunity of a lifetime”
