The U.S. weekly jobless claims for the week ended December 19, durable goods orders and personal income and spending data for November are due at 8:30 am ET Wednesday. Ahead of these data, the greenback strengthened against its major counterparts.
The greenback was worth 103.57 against the yen, 0.8905 against the franc, 1.2166 against the euro and 1.3407 against the pound at 8:25 am ET.
