South Africa Wholesale Sales At 3-Month Low

South Africa’s wholesale sales fell to the weakest level in three months in March, data from Statistics South Africa showed on Thursday.

Wholesale trade sales dropped 2.5 percent year-on-year in March, after a 0.6 percent rise in February.

The latest decline was the worst since December, when it was 5.4 percent.

On a month-on-month basis, wholesale trade sales climbed 1.5 percent in March, after a 2.0 percent rise in the previous month.

In the three months ended March, wholesale trade sales fell a seasonally adjusted 1.3 percent in March compared with the previous three months.

At current prices, wholesale trade sales climbed 4.2 percent annually and by 1.0 percent monthly in March.
