United States Consumer Inflation Expectations

Inflation Expectations in the United States increased to 2.82 percent in March from 2.79 percent in February of 2019. Inflation Expectations in the United States averaged 2.86 percent from 2013 until 2019, reaching an all time high of 3.40 percent in August of 2013 and a record low of 2.42 percent in January of 2016. In the US, inflation expectations refer to median one year ahead expected inflation rate. The expectations are based on the nationally representative, internet-based survey of a rotating panel of approximately 1,200 heads of households.
